My thoughts on the 2009 Tony Awards.

Hey Reader! Did you watch the telecast of the 2009 Tony Awards?…. Didn’t Think So. You may be wondering, “Did you watch it?” The answer to that question is probably pretty obvious. Yes I did in fact watch it. This year was actually a pretty interesting one. There were some surprising shows on Broadway nominated for the many awards. This year included; Shrek: The Musical, Billy Elliot: The Musical, West Side Story, Hair, Next to Normal, and Guys and Dolls… just to name a few.

I was surprised at how good Shrek: The Musical actually is. I heard that it was being made… and I for sure thought it would flop. It is not only funny but the music is incredible. I purchased the CD a few weeks ago and listen to often. Billy Elliot I am less familiar with actually took home the “Best Musical” Tony, so I will be getting the soundtrack soon.

Although, my favorite show to come out of 2009 was the revival of West Side Story. Its the classic tale of the Jets and Sharks… but this time it has a twist. All of the songs sung by any of the “Sharks” or Latino characters, is done so in Spanish. I highly recommend the recording. If you want to hear it just let me know and I will burn you a copy…. any takers…. yeah… I didn’t think so. I know you all too well.

But for those who are fans of classic rock… there is a show for you. Nominated for Best Musical was a show called “Rock of Ages”, Not my favorite, but it could be for some of you.

Thats All Really.

The Hornet and I: An Epic Battle of Strength.

Today I was driving down to the Resort to have lunch with one of my friends and something painful happened. I was cruising along the road to our house and I felt something crawling through my hair on the back of my head. I immediately reached my hand back, and then came the pain. One Sting. Two Stings. Three Stings. Four Stings, right in the back of the head. My attention was taken away from my driving and I drifted into the wrong lane. I reached up again and this time I felt a sharp sting in my middle finger. I finally grabbed at the object in my hair and attacking my head. It was a hornet. A Horrible little hornet. I squashed it in my hand. By this time I had almost crossed off onto the side of the road(on the wrong side) and was headed straight into a mailbox. I slammed on the breaks. Luckily no traffic was headed my way… and no one was around to witness it. I rolled down the window and chucked the hornet out.

I may have won the battle, but he sure left me with some severe pain.

Hornets are one insect I could live without.

The day of 1,049 Pictures.

Today Kelly Washko(One of my really good friends) and I decided to take some pictures. We eventually ended up taking around 1,049 pictures. We had a TON of fun and I think we got some amazing pictures. Here are a few of the best, and my favorites.

Limbo…

Well I am not sure exactly where I am going to end up this fall…. my options are kinda wide open. I need to make a decesion pretty quick as deadlines for certain things go away.

The LAMDA plan is still hovering over my head… I was given an extension on the tuition due date. It either is a blessing or just some more torture…. by some miracle 20 grand may fall into my lap… or it just extended the inevitability of not going. I am fine with not being able to go now though. I think Dixie or SUU would be a good place to go.

I am leaning more to Dixie for a couple years… then a transfer to SUU and into their amazing theatre program. Then hopefully at some point… LAMDA.

Visitors

It was so nice to have Grandma and Grandpa Warren up here in Idaho. They arrived on Saturday and went home on Wednesday. It is always a blast to have someone in the house. We live so far away that when people come to visit, its a real treat. Grandma and Grandpa watched 3 shows and I was glad that they could see them. One of the highlights of the trip was gambling with Grandma. : ) Scratch Tickets are just so darn fun. Thanks for coming up Grandma and Grandpa Warren!!!
