Farley: A Look back on a Wonderfull Creature!

Farley was telling me today that I hadn’t mentioned him on our blog in some time. I thought that was really true, and I told him sorry. So now here is a long overdue Farley Update.

Farley is doing good. He is still stuck in the kennel with Etnie(worst dog EVER!) and has to spend time in the snow, but otherwise he is plump and healthy. I plan on going to get him washed tomorrow and he is going to sleep in my room for Christas Eve as a special presnt.

Just Swimmin!

Camping…….he smelled at this point!
Its SuperFarley!
Me and Farley just have’in a blast!
Swimmin….again. He felt like a ride.

Yep thats my Farley Dog!

A Christmas Story….. A Christmas Tradition!

The Christmas season is now upon us! With only two and a half hours till Christmas Eve the feeling of Joy continues to build. Today was more or less just a lazy old saturday. I felt it necessary to sleep till 12 seeing as I did not go to bed till 3 a.m. because I was watching the christmas classic “A Christmas Story”. I dont think you will find a better movie anywhere else if you tried. It has it all. The moments that we see in this movie are movie classics. One such being is the scene where Ralphy is let outside to play with his new Red Ridder BB Gun, and of course like his Mother, Teacher, and even Santa had warned him “Bang”. He had almost “Shot his eye out”. Then with some quick thinking he whips up some tears and well you know how it goes… A Christmas Story may be one of the greatest Christmas movies evermade, even beating “Christmas Vacation”, and “Home Alone”. In life there is always something holding you back, a “Farkas”, or a “Headless Duck”, A Christmas Story shows us how to face these challenges. Either by beating up your Farkas and cursing like a sailor, or by making the best of things while singing “Fra ra ra ra ra”. Christmas wouldn’t be the same without A Christmas Story to brighten up the Season. Its just as much a Christmas tradition as placing a large Christmas Tree in your living room. The best part is that on Christmas Eve and Christmas day it plays for 24 hours. Its on so you can catch the end but grab the first as soon as it ends. I tend to watch small portions throughout the day and as the day ends I have the whole movie watched. I guess the whole point basically is that its a good movie. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Prom and Theatre-What a Pair.

Well its been awhile since I posted last as you all well know by now. Alot has been going on. I will start with Prom. I had Junior Prom recently, due to the fact that I am a junior I decided to go. I went with a girl name sherry Jensen, and we had a great time. She had a show before and so did my friends girlfriend so we went to the show and then to the dance. We ended up only being there for an hour but it was still lots of fun. Rap music blared the whole time but there was a break when some heavy duty big band swing music kicked on and then it started getting fun. We got some pictures taken, they were pretty cool I will post them later. After words we went to go to Dockside-the local theatre kid hangout at the Couer D’ Alene Resort. Although it was packed with prom people and so a table without reservations was just out of the question. So we went from fine dinning on the lake to the local Denny’s on the freeway. Although I am glad we went because it turned out to be fun. Also the variety of people that come into a Denny’s on the freeway is quite entertaning. Honestly I had no idea that at one in the morning convoys of Buicks filled to the brim with old persons of many sorts; Old men with Members only jackes, Old women with oversized brouches, and of course the ever roaming old man/or woman with the old person limp. Anyway its one in the morning at maybe 45 old people just walk in it was a site to be seen. Well thats so much for prom. Now I will update you upon my theatre. Recently I have been involved in Biloxi Blues at the Lake City Playhouse. Its going great and I am really enjoying it. I am getting into shape for it and have lost some weight. Get ready to see me buff. Then I just got the lead in my school play, it is The Importnace of Being Ernest and I will play Algernon. I am very excited for that. Biloxi is in January, and Ernest is in march togheter both plays I have some odd 500 more or less lines.

I just got home from State Drama last night around three a.m. Well to start off I didnt place but in all, my mime and scene were put into the semi-finals so out of almost 800+ people I was top 16 in mime, and the same with the scene. The talent there was incredible for the Serious Ensembles and during our semi-final round the talent was even better. Then in my mime semi-final round the talent was also good but I had many people come to watch me and in their opinion I had at least taken 2nd our 3rd in the round. I was competing against one really good other mime and the others were funny but in all were not as emotional and serious as mime. Well I didnt make it to finals with either piece. I was proud of my scene we had done tremendous, although I was disapointed in how I didnt make it to finals and which mimes did.My third round was one of my best although the lady judging I guess didnt understand it and so my score was low in that round. Although I have to say for my first time at state it was a great experience and top 16 in state is a good place to be in. Here are my results from; the first three rounds, and my semi-finals round for my mime piece. I will post the scene ones when I get them back.

Round 1- Solo Pantomime.

Rank(1-4): 1

Rating(3-10): 10

Comments: Using the remote to start the music was very cleaver. Y’know I wasnt entirely too clear on whats was going on in this piece- Was the guy old? Did he die there at the begining? But I gotta say, I didnt mind. I would like to believe this was intentional- That it is left to us to decide Either way, your intensity and deliberate movements kept me glued. Very Nice! Iw ould have liked to know more about what happend, but wanting more our of a play is a good sing. Well Done. I was moved.

Round 2-Solo Pantomime.

Rank(1-4): 1

Rating(3-10): 10

Comments: Very good shaky hands to play the piano. Good thought and the yearning in his eyes was beautiful. The emotion that you portrayed was beautriful and the movements were very well thought out. Excellent Job! Bravo!

Round 3-Solo Pantomime.

Rank(1-4): 4

Rating(3-10): 8

Comments: Nice Movements. When playing the piano watch your hands one was a little higher than the other. Overall you did a nice job. I had a hard time staying with what was going on I didnt quite get it. But you still did a nice piece.

Round Semi Finals-Pantomime.(this round has three judges)

Judge One: 4,

Judge Two: 3,

Judge Three: 4

Judge One: 8

Judge two: 10

Judge Three: 9

In all these last scores for my pantomime were disapointing I know I did alot better than what they gave me, so Im happy to know that I achieved what I wanted to achieve and I was happy to have such a great experience.
